VELVET

Velvet is a pop rock band that began in 1995 as an indie math-rock trio named Baby.  Upon lineup changes, the band reformed as Velvet and relocated from Wilmington to Raleigh, NC.  Velvet released its debut CD, Where Are The People?, on Wilmington's Eskimo Kiss Records.  The musical style on this debut album has been compared to that of singer-songwriters like Matthew Sweet, Jaime Faulkner, & Aimee Mann.  Velvet has plans to record its follow-up to Where Are The People? with Mitch Eater later this year.
